The American Bar Association (“ABA”) hosts a list of law schools with free legal clinics for a variety of legal services. If you are eligible, you may be able to get full legal representation as part of a law school’s legal clinic.

FeaturesDescription
Free Legal ClinicsLaw school clinics enable students to gain experience with clients under the supervision of their professors. Most clinical programs consist of both practice and classroom components. Some clinics offer community legal services for the poor, while others may be structured around a specific substantive area, such as health law or non-profit law. For their participation, students receive academic credit and are not compensated for their work.
Ease of UseThe list is organized in alphabetical order, so first find the law school closest to you, and check this list to see what kinds of legal clinic that law school offers. If they have a clinic that helps with your legal issue, visit their website and fill out the required application. There is limited availability at law school clinics, so they cannot help all those that apply.
