Avvo is a completely free online service that offers the largest online directory of lawyers and lawyer reviews. Avvo also has an active legal forum, where you can post a legal question for free and get a response from lawyers within a few hours. While they offer no legal services themselves, this is a good place to start when looking for lawyers or answers to simple legal questions.
